After all, the necklace she received was bought by someone who was simply called “Ross”. While the suspicion is that Billy raped Erin, it could have been John. Suspicious too? We only know that something happened during the family reunion in Ross a few years ago. He says, “I need to hear you say it …” And then Billy tearfully confesses that he killed Erin. When John confronts angry Billy about the murder, he makes him say he killed Erin. The second? The weird way John Ross seemed to speak on his brother’s behalf throughout the episode. First, Mare (Kate Winslet) shares that Billy was having an illegal incestuous affair with Erin, and later, Billy’s brother John (Joe Tippett) learns that Billy was seen wearing bloody clothes on the night of their young cousin’s death.
